Commodore Man

Over the Easter break I was down in Melbourne and took the Jackaroo for the trip. I don’t think the fuel tank has ever felt so heavy, with fuel hitting $3 a litre. Happy to report that we averaged 11.4 L/100 km (ULP98). I attempted to install the cruise control, however I missed one part of the circuit, and that was the neutral lockout. This will have to come later, but happy to say that the install was one of the easiest I have ever done on a car.

Anyway, that’s another 3000 km on the car. Issues on the trip: the A/C idler seized, and we dropped one of the original coil packs 200 km from home. These vehicles run a 3800 coil, so a spare one went in when we got home and she was right as rain.

Part of the trip, now over 12 months in the making, was catching up with Deacon, aka Commodore Man. I want to say kudos to him for the amount of work it takes to produce one of these videos, with what’s required to be done on the fly. I believe he did a good job representing what the car is and probably provided the only honest review you will find out there on these vehicles.

You can find the video here for his full review.
